About the Event
The Winter Pineapple Classic
The Winter Pineapple Classic is a family-friendly 5k obstacle course race held in Marymoor Park on Sunday, November 6th. Climbing tire walls, skimming down giant slip n' slides, and more - our racers compete while striving to keep their pineapple in-hand. Participants join together to celebrate at the finish line luau with food and a beer garden. The Winter Pineapple Classic supports the mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, raising money through sponsorships, individual and team fundraising, and entry fees. In 2015, the event raised over $390,000 for blood cancer research and patients services. Registration for the 2016 Winter Pineapple Classic opens at 9:00am PST on MONDAY, JULY 25th.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of cancer patients and their families. The LLS is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. Since the first funding in 1954, LLS has awarded more than $1 billion for research specifically targeting leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. Locally, LLS funds 10 researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and University of Washington Medical Center to the tune of $3.2 million.
