About the Event

The Winter Pineapple Classic

Start Times are HERE

The Winter Pineapple Classic is a family-friendly 5k obstacle course held at Marymoor Park on Sunday, November 18th. Pineapple was started by Eric Cox and his friends after his young son and wife had to undergo cancer treatment at the same time. So every November we try to bring some light to the dreary season and come together to celebrate and honor those affected by cancer.

The first start wave will be at 8:30 am, and every 15 min after until approximately 2:30pm.  Climbing walls, skimming down a giant slip n' slide, and more - our participants play while striving to keep their pineapple in-hand. Pineapplers join together to celebrate at the finish line with Hawaiian food (as long as you meet the $50 fundraising minimum- which is separate from the registration fee) and a free Georgetown beer garden. The Winter Pineapple Classic directly supports the mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, raising money through sponsorships, individual and team fundraising, and entry fees. For more info take a look at our participant packet! Since its inaugural event in 2006, the Winter Pineapple Classic, has raised more than $3 million for blood cancer research and patient services. Register here for the 2018 event! There is a fundraising minimum of $50 (in addition to the registration fee), this will get you an event tech t-shirt and a Hawaiian meal after the race.

The LLS is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. Since the first funding in 1954, LLS has awarded more than $1 billion for research specifically targeting leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. Last year LLS supported 15 of the 18 new FDA approved blood cancer drugs. Locally, LLS funds 10 researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and University of Washington Medical Center to the tune of $3.2 million.
